Kids Helping Kids
Audrey Johnson loved to see kids helping other kids: whether it be backstage helping each other into costumes or out in our community performing for children in the hospital. It was her absolute joy to watch kids’ generosity in action.
At the Foundation, we love to have help from kids! Since it’s inception, the Audrey Johnson Theatre Foundation has allowed children to come up with new and inventive ways to help further our mission.
Most recently, Allie Rose celebrated her Bat Mitzvah by funding a special performance of “Annie, Jr.” at Desert Stages Theatre in Scottsdale. The performance will be held in November, 2015 and include a private show for children in foster care and a special dinner with the cast.
We are always looking for new ways for children to help! If your child needs community service hours for school or would like to participate in a fundraising or mitzvah project, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Other ways that children have helped have included:
- Annie Barget: whose “Mitzvah Project” for her Bat Mitzvah was to create candy-filled goody bags for the children who were seeing a show sponsored by the Audrey Johnson Foundation.
- Katie Brown: who spent an entire Saturday volunteering at our Foundation used costume sale. (Katie has also volunteered at both of our Get Art Arizona! fundraising events.)
- Sam Primack: whose Bar Mitzvah project was to plan and organize the Used Costume Sale to benefit the Foundation.
- Ross Nemeth: who volunteered at our Get Art Arizona Fundraising Event
